During this unprecedented time, we give heartfelt thanks to our members, employees, partners and neighbours for coming together in ways our community needs most. At Sunshine Coast Credit Union, we continue to monitor and respond daily to COVID- 19. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we serve you during exceptionally high call volumes.

Our Community’s Safety is Our Priority

To ensure the safety of our members, employees and the community, we will follow government recommendations and directives related to COVID-19. We strongly encourage all members to remain home and bank with us safely using alternate channels. While our branches are currently open and operating under reduced hours and visitor limits, we may be required to temporarily close branches at any time.

Our efforts to ensure physical distancing will not impact access to our services, your money or the security of your accounts. In addition to our digital channels, we’ve expanded hours and increased resources in our Member Service Centre. YOUR BRANCH EXPERIENCE HAS CHANGED

Updated March 18th, 2020 

In addition to requirements that support social distancing and sanitization, as of March 18th, members will experience the following changes to in-branch service:

  • All members visiting a branch will be set up for safe banking including online banking, mobile app and a debit card. For those without digital access, we will provide our Member Service Centre contact information and request that you call, not come in, beginning today.
  • All appointments will be booked as phone appointments, including video conferencing if preferred. E-Sign will be used to facilitate signing requirements.

FREE INTERAC E-TRANSFERS® FOR ALL

In support of our members in their digital payments, all INTERAC e-Transfer® fees will be waived effective March 18 2020 until April 30 2020, for personal, business and non-profit members.  

OUR AGM IS POSTPONED

Scheduled to take place on April 21st, our AGM has been postponed. In the meantime, members can view our 2019 Annual Report and financials through our website. 

DIGITAL BANKING

We’re proactively helping members become aware of and comfortable using channels that allow you to pay bills, deposit cheques and send money from the comfort of your home.

EMPLOYEES & BRANCHES 

We’re continuing to communicate internally, sharing Health and Wellness Guidelines with all employees, limiting in-person meetings, enabling remote working, making hand sanitizer readily available in multiple locations for employees and members; and increasing frequency of cleaning in high-touch areas.

Your security is also our priority. Fraudsters take advantage of uncertain times such as this. An important reminder that we will never ask for personal information or passwords through email, text or phone.

TIP - Protect Yourself from Fraud

Learn more about identifying, reporting and stopping fraud with our online resources. Plus, log in to online banking and choose to receive Mobile Security Alerts to your phone or email. You will be notified of any activity within your online banking.
