A Message to our Members

First, a big thank you to you, our members. As an essential service provider, we pivoted and transformed our business model quickly during the early days of COVID-19 to ensure you had safe access to the service and expertise you have come to expect from your financial services partner. You pivoted right along with us and for that, we’re grateful.  As the Province moves to Stage 2 of the BC Restart Plan and non-essential businesses start to resume operations, we want to update you on what this means to your experience with Sunshine Coast Credit Union.

Safety-First Service Options - What Our Members are Saying

Safety remains our priority for members and employees. We have established operational safety protocols and will continue to monitor and evolve these in adherence to WorkSafeBC and the Provincial Health Authority. While we are pleased to offer you a choice in how you access service, we are recommending that our members continue to take advantage of our safest and most convenient service channels: Digital Banking and our Member Service Centre.

Not quite ready for Digital Banking? That’s OK. There is very little we can’t help you with through our local team in our Member Service Centre. Call or online chat with us from the comfort of your home – no long waits here!

Branch Service

We strongly encourage members to take advantage of Digital Banking and our Member Service Centre at this time. While we continue to provide service through our branches, to ensure the safety of all, members choosing to see us in branch will be required to join us in following the same high-level safety protocol we are all adhering to at this time. We’ve created a safe space for you, and in doing so, it will look and feel different: 

  • If you’re experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, have been ill within the last 10 days, or have been out of the country within the last 14 days, please do not enter an SCCU branch.
  • High traffic areas are sanitized regularly.
  • A maximum number of members will be permitted inside; you may need to wait outside during peak times.
  • Physical distancing signage will indicate appropriate areas to stand in relation to others.
  • Plexiglass will provide a physical separation between you and SCCU employees. Appointments with advisors will be held by phone or video conference.
  • You will be asked to respond to health screening questions and use hand sanitizer. We sincerely thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and well; we appreciate your patience and support.

We encourage business owners to get in touch soon if you are interested in taking advantage of the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA), as the deadline for applying is fast approaching, and the criteria has recently expanded. Plus, watch for exciting news soon as we introduce new support and options for our business community!
