  • Rebuild

Together we can do this.

We have put aside $200,000 to share with our business community in support of your reinvention!

Let’s start rebuilding today.

Sunshine Coast Credit Union Members were invited to apply for a grant (up to $5,000) through our Business Grant offering. Providing entrepreneurs with some non-repayable re-boot funding is our way of supporting you in re-imagining what is possible for your business, whether it’s creating new ways to serve your customers, finding opportunities to expand your market or investing in your employees. We looked to fund initiatives that focus on new technologies, safety, employee training, research and new products and services. While our commercial services team is still right here to support your lending needs, our intention with this new program was to provide immediate financial support outside of our existing lending solutions.

We are one coast, one community, one local economy. Let’s grow together.

What does this grant mean for you and your business?

My intention is to use this grant money to hire coasters to support my online marketing efforts and digital presence.  Coastal Weddings & Events

What does this grant mean for you and your business?

After bringing people together for  10 years Coastal Weddings had to make big adjustments in 2020. For gatherings, we adjusted to think small and brought in additional measures to ensure the safety of our clients and partners and staff. These funds will help us continue to assist our clients safely and efficiently.

The Backeddy Resort and Marina

What does this grant mean for you and your business?

The SCCU grant program is another great example of how the everyone here on the coast is working together through these challenging times. We have been so impressed by the local support for us and all of the other small businesses here on the coast. We anticipate increased demand in the upcoming season with people looking for great local places to escape to staycation. In preparation for this we are focusing on expanding and improving our ocean front accommodations. We are running fibre optic cable to our existing nine cabins, ensuring that our guests can stay connected and work remotely even as they “disconnect”,  We are building a couple more romantic ocean front couples cabins overlooking the marina, and we are adding additional oceanfront clamping geodesic domes. (we refer to this sweet little part of the property as "Dome-topia”)The grant will go toward winterizing the domes, adding thermal liners, and pellet stoves, This will allow us to extend the length of the season for the domes significantly, providing yet another unique get away experience for our guests

What do you want Coasters to know about your business?

We provide a pretty special get away for locals and tourists alike. Our location here on the water is drop dead gorgeous. It is easily accessible, yet somehow feels remote. Wether guests are dropping into the pub after a hike to the Skook, or grabbing a weekend staycation in one of our cozy cabins, we create a pretty nice little escape for people to relax, renew, and refresh. Internally we play a little game up here where our goal is that everyone who visits us “leaves better than when they arrived”. So wether it is an interaction with our uber friendly staff, a refreshing pint on the deck, or just taking in the ever changing vista something transformative happens here. The perfect spot for a staycation!
